Well, today was much better.than yesterday. We had lots of wind while going through the 14 miles of Amarillo. Once outside the city, the wind calmed down, was out of the North/ northeast, and became a pleasant ride. It was really cool this morning, quite a change from yesterday. I even changed clothes after breakfast because it was chilly. But, oh, so nice a temp all day. Didn’t even take off my jacket until noon.
This first picture shows that there really is nothing to take a picture of in this part of Texas. Flat and boring.

Once we got into God forsaken Adrian, where there is nothing at all in this town; all there really is are old buildings and lots of midway signs. We are camping in an open lot along rte 66 but we only have one shower which is also in the same room as the toilet. Really sparse here.

This sign makes our campground sound wonderful. It is not.

We see lots of these signs on the highway but this one is special because it is the midpoint.

So today we are halfway. I tho’t we had gone further but guess not.
We are on the high Plains of Texas where it is mostly grassland. Today, I saw the biggest feedlot of cattle that I have ever seen. Once in a while there will be a field of milo sorghum but other than that, it is pretty bare. Sparse is the only word that describes it well.
