Day 50. June13. Wednesday. Rest day in Grafton, ON

Not a planned rest day but woke up at 5:30 to sprinkles.  Quick ran to the bathroom and soon after I returned, the skies opened up.  I went back to sleep twice during the 4 hour rain storm.  Oh, my gosh, it rained hard.  When I finally crawled out about 10, puddles were everywhere.  Of course, everything was soaked.

I checked with the campground office and more rain was expected with severe storms possible in the afternoon.  Fine, we stayed another day.

I did laundry and read a book in their office area all day.  They had a real nice seating area with tons of books from which to choose.  No need to battle the weather.  The original forecast was for the rain and storm to arrive late afternoon.  Guess it couldn’t wait.

I went to my tent around 4 and about 5, it got so dark, so fast, I couldn’t see to read.  I heard thunder and tho’t I’d better go back to the office.  The severe warning was for 60 mile an HR winds with possible quarter size hail.  I just couldn’t see myself in a tent in those conditions.  Call me woosy. Turned out all we got was more heavy rain.
